Dancin’ Oxford 2012 is a celebration of dance talent in the city of dreaming spires and Moving With The Times is a showcase for six local artists who have been commissioned by the Oxford Dance Forum and Pegasus to create new work especially for this annual festival.
Highlights include: Sole Rebel Tap which premieres their newest work Solely Rhythm in collaboration with Debian Blak, features live music and a mix of tap combined with Contemporary and hip hop; Anja Meinhardt performs Dare to Dream a physical theatre piece she has devised with an original score by Anya Yermakova and Ground Effect in which Nomi McLeod combines a dance sensibility with aerial circus skills.
This is the second year that the festival has featured the Moving With The Times showcase which proved so popular on its first outing that it sold out. Festival Director Claire Thompson says:’Dancin’ Oxford and Oxford Dance Forum is proud to present work by six of Oxford’s finest dance artists. The evening promises an exciting range of work, and is sure to be a thoroughly enjoyable evening. This is a unique opportunity to see work by so many talented artists in one evening’s programme.’
