Book Review: ERAGON

by Christopher Paolini

Published by Corgi Childrens

Eragon is a story based in a magical world full of wonder and fright. Many years ago there were people called ‘riders’ and they each had their very own dragon. However in the present day of this book, the only rider left is the king Galbatorix. The boy we follow in this story is called Eragon who lives with his uncle Garrow and cousin Roran on a farm.

Eragon soon finds a strange blue rock from the ‘spine’ but it appears hollow. However, little does he know that this rock will change his life forever. Eragon becomes one of the most well-known people of this world for slaying a shade, Durzwa.

I absolutely loved reading every gripping page of this extraordinary piece of literature. The story has many twists and brilliantly-defined characters every page of the way. As I read, I became brilliantly attached to each character and their uniqueness.

I would recommend this book to anyone with a huge taste of adventure and magic. I give this book a well-deserved five stars and cannot wait to finish the series.
